STEWARDSHIP

Saints Cyril and Methodius
Mission Statement

Ss. Cyril and Methodius is a welcoming Catholic community open to all with Jesus and Eucharist as our center. Through our celebration of the Gospel message, we embrace with compassion all individuals equally as God’s children. As a church community, we continue the building of God’s Kingdom of justice by accepting the challenge of the Gospel through faith, hope and love. We spread God’s love to all whom we come into contact, truly serving as Jesus’ body on earth

In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the Corinthians, “There are different gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different ministries but the same Lord.” How am I using my gifts “for the common good”?

OUR STEWARDSHIP PLEDGE:

THREE HOURS TO THE LORD

●One hour in prayer each week

●One hour in service to others

   each week

●One hour’s wages financial

support of our parish family

Last Sunday, our weekly collection totaled: $23,668

This same weekend last year was: $23,151

We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who consciously seek ways to discover how God has gifted them (gift discovery programs, reading, conversation, formation).

We thank the families who lovingly used envelopes last weekend

We thank you for your continuous generosity. We hope that today you remembered your mother and/or wife in some special way. May is the month that we celebrate motherhood. We also honor our Blessed Mother Mary this month. Know that you, our dear parishioners, are always in our prayers, and we thank you for all you do to make this a true Family of the Eucharist. We especially thank our mothers and all the mothers of the world for what they do for all of us. Happy Mothers’ Day Fr. Frank & Dcn. Phil

MATCHING FUNDS PROGRAM

In many companies, the Matching Funds Program matches your charitable contribution on a dollar for dollar basis. In one case our parish received over $3,000 as a result of an employee (our parishioner) reporting their donation to the company.

Please ask your employer if they have such a program. It may benefit our parish at no cost to you.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”                       ~John 20:21-23

Catholic Communications Campaign

The annual collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will take place the weekend of May 17-18. Catholic bishops in the U.S. have designated the third Sunday of May for CCC collection to coincide with World Communications Day. Over 25 years, the campaign has been spreading the Gospel message locally & nationally on radio, television, in print & the Internet. Fifty percent supports local communication efforts. The other supports development & production of a wide range of national media programming: i.e., The Face: Jesus in Art, Catholic Radio Weekly, television specials for broadcast networks, radio & television public service announcements in both English & Spanish, and streaming video programming that offers a slice of Catholic life in this country. Parishioner donations make the work of the CCC possible. Please contribute to the campaign in your upcoming parish collection. For more information on the Catholic Communication Campaign visit: www.usccb.org/ccc/. The Catholic Communication Campaign—it’s how the Good News gets around.
